Fantastic. Would be a 5-star but it's not quite as good as the original. I recommend keeping it simple: get the two tacos; they are very large and come with chips. The food is delicious, the hot sauce bar is classic (they aren't all real hot, which is nice sometimes). The sweet tea is delicious. The downside is just that sometimes the service is crazy slow even when it 'a not busy. You can pretty much always order real fast, but then sometimes it takes forever for your food to come, or they don't come around and do refills. But those are the only negatives. The good is awesome.

Service was fantastic, new store was very clean. Great atmosphere. Great colors and style, makes you feel like your on vacation. Okay, with all that said why 2 stars? The food! It is very bland. If you want any flavor it is all in the hot sauce bar. I am not a fan of HOT. Not the place for me.

I've been eating here since they opened. The food is consistently fresh, fast and very tasty. Sometimes it's difficult to find a seat because this establishment is popular. The food is priced right. And the hot sauce bar has several choices.

Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing (chicken burrito?) but I would definitely say skip this place and head down to Moe's. Two combo meals were $25 and not very tasty. The salsa bar is a cool concept, but I would rather have flavorful chicken. Their queso wasn't very good either.

I have been here a few times. Food is usually hot and ready to go. Burritos are what I get, sometimes the chimichanga. Other people's food looks good too. A lot of different hot sauces to pick from, mild to hot. You can also grab a beer or sangria at this location.

Went to the one on Rt. 41, ordered two enchiladas one steak, one blackened chicken. Fairly large portion. No chips and salsa, no free refills on drinks, crunchy hard rice. I was aked if I wanted red or green sauce I received neither. The kid at the counter forgot my water and extra sour cream I asked him about it and he said "Oh yeah" he proceed to grab his cigarettes behind the counter and walked out the door! All that for $10.42. Never again.

Cute place with great decor and friendly staff who are all willing to make your stay pleasant. Grab a seat, check out the menu and proceed to the counter to place your order which will then be brought back to your table by a member of staff. If you want to doctor it up, they have an enormous hot sauce bar with loads of different sauces to try out. The menu has your usual texmex fare but it's a bit disappointing not to have complimentary chips and salsa on offer while waiting for the entree to arrive. On the flip side, there's no extra charge for guacamole or extra cheese, which is pretty surprising as well, so I suppose that evens out. The decor is colorful and fun and great music playing. The place is spotless and the staff is very accommodating. The food is better than mediocre but nothing too amazing. A decent value, for sure. Good portions. Nothing disappointing, aside for the lack of chips and salsa as mentioned, which really should accompany any texmex meal complimentary. Not sure if we'll hurry back but we enjoyed our meal and the attentive staff.

Great tacos! Fun place! I'm there almost every Tuesday for a quick office escape lunch sitting outside on the patio! It's always a busy crowd for Taco Tuesday but the friendly staff get you in and out quickly. Just listen for your name when they call out your order and bring it to ya! I highly recommend the hard shell beef or pork tacos with EVERYTHING (lettuce, tomato, shreaded cheddar cheese, black olives, sour cream, onion, jalapenos). I can't wait until Tuesday!

First time here. I dig this place. Nice employees. Good food. Cheap beer. I'll definitely come back and visit

This is the newest location in the area, and although they still have a few things to learn, my experiences here have been pretty good overall. The wait for food is a bit longer than at other locations, but the food has been consistently good, and they have a pretty good sized hot bar. Definitely recommend!

The food was wonderful and the staff was very friendly. My husband and I both got salads and they were delicious. There were a ton of different sauces to try at the self serve sauce bar which really enjoyed. We had our son with us, so we needed to use a high chair. Their high chair appeared to be cleaner than most places which was a nice bonus. The food was great, and we will definitely be back soon!

Delicious food, wide variety, friendly staff, cool music and awesome hot sauce bar! It was a great experience and interesting story behind the creation. It's a cool tex mex place and it's pretty quick! Enjoy :)

I am mortified why there are so many good reviews of this place. Not to be a food snob, but this was probably the blandest experience EVER! My wife got the chicken burrito which was basically boiled chicken with no salt (or tasted like it). I got steak tacos which was slightly better, but still lacked any actual flavor. Chips were ok, salsa was bland and flavorless. If not for the hot sauce bar to add to this, it would have been tasteless. Even though, if the actual food has flavor, you shouldn't have to drown it in hot sauce. With places like Chipotle, Qdoba and even Baja Fresh, it amazes that places like this can thrive. yeah it's a fun atmosphere with a relatively nice staff, but c'mon, if I'm going to eat, it really should be about the flavor and this fell short by miles! Their sight states they offer innovative and exciting Tex-Mex food, sadly, I found neither statement to be remotely true. I will avoid this place like the plague and drive 30 minutes to go to Chipotle!

A fair lunch of a veggie burrito and mahi tacos.

I had never heard of this place and was just making a return at Radio Shack next door and decided to try it. So glad I went in! I had a chicken quesadilla meal with rice and refried beans and it was so good! Not a huge portion but great for lunch. The staff is amazingly nice - all of them! The only drawback is the lack of seating around lunch time.

Meh. Staff was fantastic. Food was so so. I am an authentic and Tex-mex connosoiur, and so after all the hype, I had to see what this place was all about. Greeted at the front door by an enthusiastic young man, I was certain the service would be good and was not disappointed. The food however, was a let down. I was shocked to find out that chips and salsa were NOT complimentary as they are in just about every single similar tex mex joint. I ordered the pick two: a chicken chimichanga and cheese enchilada with the side of rice and beans as well as an a la carte ground beef taco. The chicken (what little there was) were large chunks of bland breast meat. Traditionally, chicken should be shredded flavorful pieces in a chimichanga. Also, the chimi was not fried long enough, giving it a doughy, chewy texture. The cheese enchilada was nothing to write home about. As for the beans and rice, they were cold and tasted as if they had just come out of a can. The beef taco however, was good. Very large and full of toppings. The a la carte taco oddly came with a side of chips, but no salsa. Again, you have to pay extra for that. Then there was the hot sauce bar. As a hot sauce addict, I liked the selections but found that it was just out of place. Why not have a salsa bar instead? It wasn't the worst, but by far wasn't the best. With so many authentic and "Ameri-Mex" options within a 15-20 minute driving distance for about the same money, I am not in a rush to return to Tijuana Flats anytime soon. It's only saving grace were the outstanding employees.

Other restaurants can learn a lot from this place. The service here is just amazing, and it isn't a full service restaurant. The girls are always checking on you and get you whatever you need without any delay. The food is fresh and tasty. The sauces are too numerous to try on one visit. After paying 5 times as much at other Mexican restaurants and getting awful food and service, I will be spending more time here at Tijuana Flats. Keep up the good work!! Also, the place is clean and all the employees were friendly and happy, the sign of good management.

I am usually not a fan of chains or fast Mexican food. But this is a solid choice for a good price meal hat is quick but fresh. This particular location can get really busy, especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays when they have some really good specials going. Busy means crowded parking lot and hard to find a seat. Despite being busy the food comes out quick Lots of variety to the menu and as others have mentioned the Hot Bar is fabulous addition! The Tijuana trio is a must for our table because we like the crispy chips and all the dips to start the meal off! I have had the tacos, burritos, salads and quesadillas. Lots of choices for meats and toppings! TIP: You can order ahead online to skip the line; they offer party platters and also do catering.

Can't figure out all the glowing reviews. This is like the macdonalds of Tex mex only over priced. Could go to an authentic fine Mexican restaurant for the cost of this very bland food. And this coming from someone that doesn't even like numb your gums hot n spicy, but I do appreciate tasty spices. The guac had zero flavor. I wanted to get a mahi taco and veggie burrito, but the order taker couldn't figure out how to enter into cash register. Oy! No bueno. Ok, so I just got the dos tacos. Flavorless even with the sauce they put on it. They give you chips with it but if you want salsa or guac it is an upcharge. Four of us ate and all said same. Pretty flavorless and bland. Shouldn't have to use tongue numbing sauces to add flavor.

We were looking for a quick place to eat by our hotel near the Ft Myers airport. We love Mexican food so we took a chance never having heard of this chain (is it in the Northeast?). It was delightfully decorated and we were greeted by a very friendly staff member who made us feel welcome right away. I loved all the healthy options! I ordered the combo - a burrito and a quesadilla - with rice and beans for $9.99. I was asked if I wanted a whole wheat tortilla. Yes, please! I couldn't finish it! We'd had chips and salsa to start and when I wanted to pack up my meal, she refreshed my chips. I appreciated that! But I must add that we didn't like the salsa (served with the chips) at all. It was too mushy and thick. The sauces I tried were HOT, but I love spicy! Did I mention that there was Dos XX on tap?! The food was very good, better than some "nicer" Mexican restaurants we've gone. Great quality for a great price. We'll see you again soon!

I have always loved Tijuana Flats. I was very impressed with this location and their service. We had a group that included 3 babies. They were very accommidating by bringing our drinks to us before we even ordered. They checked on us multiple times for refills and to clear the table. The food was great as always.

The service is prompt and courteous, the food is delectable. The finest fast casual TexMex chain, and this store does it justice.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
